Media Art & Science
At our summer day camp, children ages 4 to 13 will take part in an exciting project called "Nature Documentary Creators," combining science, art, and media to build their creativity and observation skills. Campers will begin by exploring nature through guided walks, where they will observe plants, animals, and natural environments, taking photos and collecting safe items for inspiration. Using their findings, they will create colorful drawings, paintings, or small 3D models to represent real or imaginary habitats. Next, they will learn basic video production skills by writing simple scripts, filming short clips, recording voiceovers, and editing their own mini-documentaries using kid-friendly apps. The activity will focus on helping campers practice scientific thinking, artistic expression, and basic media skills in a fun and supportive environment, encouraging creativity and curiosity throughout the week.
